Yu-Hao (Jason) Chen, born in Taitung, Taiwan, is a senior at the Aube Tzerko Piano Academy at New Roads School in Santa Monica.  Jason currently studies piano with Mary Ann Cummins and received earlier training from Doris Chen and Rong-Jing Han.  He also studies Music Theory and Keyboard Harmony with Richard Grayson, and Music History and Keyboard Literature with Deborah How.

First prize winner of the 2008 Los Angeles Philharmonic Bronislaw Kaper Awards for Young Artists, Jason has soloed with the Palisades Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Crossroads Chamber Orchestra live on KMZT and KCSN.  Other awards include the Alfred Newman Memorial Award, the Westside Committee Award of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and first-alternate in the 2008 MTAC State Concerto Competition (South).  Jason has attended the Music Academy of the West, Aspen Music School, and Killington Music Festival under the guidance of Jerome Lowenthal, Antoinette Perry, and Max Levinson.
